What we don’t collect
Students never sign up or log in. There are no student accounts, no tracking or advertising cookies, and no analytics scripts on this site.
What our servers see
Like every website, our hosting provider receives standard request information — your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for — to deliver the page and protect the site from abuse. Your IP is also kept in memory for about a minute to rate-limit the AI assistant. We don’t store it in our database.
The AI assistant
- Messages you type are sent to our server to search for papers. They are not saved in our database.
- To understand the question, the message may be passed to an AI provider (Groq or Google Gemini) under their own privacy terms. Please don’t type personal details into the chat.
- The conversation is kept in your browser’s session storage so it survives a page change, and is gone when you close the tab.
Third-party services
- Google Drive hosts the papers and notes. Opening one takes you to Google, whose privacy policy then applies.
- Google Fonts and jsDelivr serve fonts and a small 3D graphic script, so your browser contacts them when a page loads.
- If you message us on WhatsApp or by email, we see what you send, and use it only to reply to you.
Cookies
The only cookie this site sets is a login cookie for site administrators. Students never receive it.
Children
Paperwala is meant for college students. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age.
